ABOUT THE ARTIST

Nishant Malhotra (b.1996) is an Indian-American multidisciplinary artist living in New York City, merging form and formlessness to develop his visual language. He recontextualizes Vedic and ancient Indic philosophy into a contemporary context, using the “working man” as his muse. His practice explores themes of impermanence, identity, and consciousness. Alongside painting, which Nishant has been doing “as long as he can remember”, he has utilized his skillset to create merchandise & marketing collateral for diamond recording artists, while exhibiting his art internationally. Nishant has been able to communicate with different communities through his work, showing the breadth of people who resonate with his practice. As the landscapes of society; media, technology, and politics rapidly change, his work becomes increasingly more relevant to the 21st century.
